Yes, I'm skeptical too - A pill ๐ to reverse aging? โ This week in AI ๐ค โ Your beliefs shape your world ๐
Life is information. When corrupted, we age & die. It's been a week of new beginnings, increased commitment, and show of progress. Beliefs are placebos.
I've been having fun on Threads this week. Have you checked it out yet?
On the menu today:
Thing 1 - A pill to reverse aging?
Jae-Hyun Yang, David Sinclair, et al published a paper showing how a chemical cocktail can make old cells young again. They used it to restore vision in monkeys!
Life is information. When corrupted, we age & die. Found a backup copy (cf Shannon). With genes & chemicals, we reboot the body. Works in monkeys to restore vision. Humans next
- David Sinclair
People are ecstatic about it.
Charles Brenner and David Mayhew (and some others) are calling ๐๐ฉ
Saying age reversal canโt be done is like saying humans canโt fly, they merely get in metal tubes & leave the ground for 16 hours.
- David Sinclair
Magic pill to make you young again does sketchy. As such it belongs to the "I'll believe it when I see it" category.
Every history-altering discovery is made with a degree of pushback and disbelief.
So... maybe? We'll see how the human trials go.

Thing 3 - Your beliefs shape your world
Beliefs are placebos. Believe whatever works for you.
- Derek Sivers
You process so little information about the world. Most of it falls outside of what your senses can experience.
Then your mind discards most of it so you wouldn't be overwhelmed.
This is what your understanding of the world is based on.
Who's to say what you believe in isn't true if it works for you?
Cheers, Zvonimir
