Ok, I'll share, this was my week
Had a crazy week, here's the deetz.
This was a super-freakin-long week. 📆🏃♂️💨
And I loved it! ❤️🔥
I just came back from a weekend road trip to NYC.
Our guide was a computer science Ph.D. (and one of my closest friends) but might've as well been a Ph.D. in NewYork-ology - that's a word now - because the whole experience was chef's kiss.
Here's the recap:
Monday feels so long ago that I don't even remember it 🫠
Collision Conf
I got an unexpected invite to Collision from one of the startups I'm mentoring. Couldn't refuse. (makes sense since the godfather was there).
For most of Tuesday, I was chilling with them and for the rest of the days, I met some cool people.
Collision had more than 36k attendees. That's a sea of people to see in one place.
MKBHD got more love than Beyoncé for his appearance, dude's got clout. Among geeks anyway, there's only one B 👸.
Geoffrey Hinton a.k.a The Godfather of AI quit Google so he can lose the handcuffs and say anything he wants about the dangers of AI.
And I got to hear him speak about it. What struck me is that he's still super excited about the changes AI will bring - even though he's concerned about well... the changes it could bring.
Road trip to NYC
What better way to top off driving to Toronto a few days in a row than driving 10-ish hours to New York as well?
Yeah, I couldn't think of any either.
New York City feels like everyone's trying to one-up all the impressive people and things that came before. "What can we do next? How can we do it better than anyone ever did?"
I loved the energy. I'm coming back.
After billions of years of evolution, we are steps away from creating super intelligence. It will be perhaps the most extraordinary moment in the history of the galaxy. I’m trying to earn my admissions ticket by staying alive. I hope you do too.

Next week, we're at our regular 3-in-3 format.
And how was your week?
